ANTIANXIETY FOOT MASSAGE 5A.1 5A.2 STROKES 5A.1 AND 5A.2: As the hand swings over the toes during the conclusion of Stroke 4, the thumb, instead of joining the fingers, remains separated. As the fingers resume position to perform Stroke 1, the hand moves proximally with the thumb sweeping along the plantar fascia and the fingers simply gliding along the flexor tendons. Once the thumb touches the calcaneal region, it returns distally with the fingers doing likewise on top, the thumb slightly lateral to the fascia, very much as if the hand was performing the conclusion of Stroke 1. 5B STROKE 5B: The nondominant hand follows suit, as above, an echo to the dominant.
