I am ABMP. Rosemary Foster, Bellingham, Washington. Member since 2005. BACKGROUND: As a nurturer by nature and a therapist (speech pathology) by training, massage therapy seemed like a great way to blend my life skills to serve others. My term on the Washington State Massage Board has also been a mind broadening experience. PERSPECTIVE: My collection of experiences and my ability to work as a health care provider in Washington State make my practice unique. I also blend polarity into every massage and am always awestruck by its simple effect. BUSINESS GROWTH: Learning to run my own business has changed the way I think and move throughout my community. The steady growth of referrals from local physicians and chiropractors now accounts for 70 percent of my client base. ABMP AND ME: I had belonged to another association for 13 years but never encountered the warmth, courtesy, and diversity I've already experienced in my three years with ABMP. What dedicated and impassioned professionals the staff is! LAST WORD: Being self-employed, I can balance my career with my other activities, doing what I enjoy to my heart's content. It's a good life. Comprehensive liability insurance and practice support for massage and bodywork professionals and students. Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals 800-458-2267 • www.abmp.com
