best practices BUSINESS SIDE | Q & ART | TABLE LESSONS | SAVVY SELF-CARE Create an Instant Pick-Me-Up By Mary Ann Lieser Have you ever received thank-you cards or notes of appreciation from clients? If so, don't throw them away! Create a box of memories to put these in and revisit it whenever you need a pick-me-up. • Consider jotting down words of praise clients speak on your behalf. Those client testimonials can also serve as the backbone for an effective marketing campaign. Clients' words describing your work can wield a powerful influence. • Collect specific compliments that reinforce your unique approach and showcase your personal brand. Whether your focus is total relaxation, maximum athletic performance, recovery from injury, or relief from chronic pain, keep an eye open for the words and success stories that best capture what sets you apart. • Tap into your collection when you need fresh material for your website or blog, or to post on Facebook, Twitter, or other social media sites. You can build your visibility, and use the collection as a tool to revive your own spirits. • Finally, remind yourself why you chose this work and how much of a difference you really make, then be inspired to keep making that kind of difference in the lives of others every day. Mary Ann Lieser is a registered nurse, freelance writer, and mother of eight living in Wooster, Ohio. She can be contacted at liesermaryann@yahoo.com. www.abmp.com. See what benefits await you. 41
