The most common location of injury is right at the attachment to the pubis. This is a very personal and vulnerable area of the body, so be very careful when performing your treatment. Be sure to obtain explicit consent from the client before you begin. To get access to the adductor tendon, ask the person to bend the knee of the injured leg and let it drop out to the side. Place a pillow under the lateral thigh and knee, making sure this position feels comfortable, and then palpate the adductor tendon, beginning at least a few inches distal to the pubis.
