Your submission can be as short as you'd like and up to 250 words. Upcoming Topics FROM FACEBOOK I mix a combo of four different oils (no nut oils). The oil I combine does not get in my sheets, and it sinks into the client's skin and provides perfect slide—not too much, not too little. DONNA MICHELLE MCDONALD I use lotion and gel. I'm too messy for oil. I always manage to spill it, and the kinds that say they wash out, do not wash out. My sheets smelled awful, and I spent more than $200 to replace them. Much happier now. I use lotion for regular massage and gel for thermal palms massage. CHRISTINE BAKER I have always used creams. I like that they're less messy, and my linens come clean. I've tried oils and gels, but I would usually get too much in my hands and either make a mess or get too much glide. I do, however, do a rejuvenating face massage and use jojoba oil for that. Clients like it. CHRISTINA KOEHLER Oil! Hydrating and great for skin … not greasy! NANCY HUDSPETH FROM TWITTER Cream. Lotion dries up too fast and you have to apply over and over. The cream lasts much longer for sessions! @CFORDYCELMT I have been involved in the massage therapy industry since 2004. In my experience in chaotic clinics and private practice, I prefer lotion. I do appreciate the accessibility and affordability of oil and, of course, the variety, but lotion is less staining. After all these years, I still have not found a way to completely remove oil stains from my work clothes or table linens. Less is more with oil, but lotion is a better value for me because it saves me money on work attire. I am also more comfortable carrying a lotion pump bottle in a holster, because it is easier to control the amount dispensed than it is with oil. SARAH TWOMEY BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA This is something I've been experimenting with. I started out with lotion, but found that it pilled often, and I had to reapply. While lotion offered a longer life for my massage sheets, I've mostly been using oil. I prefer not having to reapply so frequently and don't mind purchasing new sheets more frequently. BRITTANY HERZBERG CARY, NORTH CAROLINA I prefer oil, and I make all of my own oil blends. It behooves therapists to undertake a study of oils and blending, and to always use the best oils possible. This is not the place to scrimp on quality. Learn your oils and take control of what goes on your clients' skin! HELEN FLOYD WHEATON, ILLINOIS SPE AK YOUR MIND LOTION
