WHAT ROUTINE OR RITUAL DO YOU UNDERGO BEFORE DELIVERING MASSAGE OR BODY WORK? FROM FACEBOOK Quick prayer and a deep breath. SHANNA THOMPSON I always fi nish my hand and arm washing with very cold water before and after a session. Don't know how or why that started, but I don't feel "clean" (energetically or otherwise) unless I do it! LINDSAY BALASH Deep breath in and then out with my hands rested on the body. I do fi ve slow, gentle body sweeps to communicate that I am here and I am safe. Then, repeat in reverse. I found that if I don't do it, I am less likely to reach that need. AMANDA M. HUSTON Take my shoes off and take a deep breath. OTILLIA BAKER In private practice, I spray my room with a special blend that I made to cleanse the air of any bad energy in between clients. Sometimes I'll spray myself with it, too. In hospice, I take the time to sit with and talk with each of my patients to see how they're doing and where they are mentally before we begin the massage—a little connection time. MARY D. BURNS I clear my head before going in, but it pretty much looks like I'm staring at a door, thinking it's an elevator that will never open. TRACY BRADLEY Qi gong exercises—protection in white light. GILLIAN LAKE Before my day begins, I try to do a few strolls in the yard barefooted to feel the grass and the mud on my feet. I feel it grounds and centers me. I start with deep breaths and count down from 60 for a minute before entering the room. When I enter the room, I perform torso compressions and twists, and remind my client to breathe. Generally, during these medium pressure compressions, their backs begin to release pressure and you can hear the snaps, crackles, and pops. RICHARD L. GARZA Guide the client to relax by smiling to their heart. LINA SIDIK FROM GOOGLE+ I quiet myself and connect with my client. I then do a quick meditation to connect with my intuition and go with the fl ow. DEE DAVIDSON FROM TWITTER Handful of cashews, half liter of water, and a quick prayer to guide my hands. @STEFFANISZANA F r e e m u s i c d o w n l o a d s f o r C e r t i f i e d m e m b e r s : w w w. a b m p . c o m / g o / c e r t i f i e d c e n t r a l 17 FROM GOOGLE+ FROM GOOGLE+
