LOMILOMI LOVE
I loved the article about Jeana
Iwalani Naluai and her need to share
the Hawaiian lomilomi tradition
["Wisdom of the Elders," Different
Strokes, November/December 2013,
page DS8]. I was fi rst introduced to
lomilomi by a non-native Hawaiian
massage teacher and then pursued
the deeper experience and training
with Hawaiian elders. All things
Hawaiian have always attracted me
and lomilomi especially spoke to my
soul as I gathered more experience
like a sea sponge. I have been asked
to teach the technique many times.
But I am respectful of the tradition and feel that it is
best taught by those who have this sacred tradition
in their heritage. It is defi nitely worth your while
to travel to Hawaii for this training experience.
My practice continues to grow and I am honored
to have been chosen to share these techniques with
others on my massage table. Lomilomi truly can
transport one to the sacred islands of Hawaii.

CORRECTION
We incorrectly spelled Chris Korol's name in Ten for
Today ("Take Your Practice to the Next Level with
ABMP Member Benefi ts," January/February 2014,
page 26), and ran an incorrect image (Image 2) in
The Science of Movement ("Using Push and Pull in
Massage," January/February 2014, page 104). Both
inaccuracies have been corrected in our digital edition,
www.massageandbodyworkdigital.com/i/230373.
Consider interviewing the DC as much as you're
being interviewed. Get a treatment from them
and see how it feels. If you're uncomfortable at
all, it may not be a match, and declining one offer
may have an upside to future business growth.

I just wanted you to know that your latest issue
of Massage & Bodywork is fantastic. I have several
clients struggling with peripheral neuropathy from
chemotherapy and this article was very insightful
["Breaking New Ground," by Charlotte Michael
Versagi, January/February 2014, page 82]. I also found
the shoulder pain ["Melvin's Painful Shoulder," by
Whitney Lowe, January/February 2014, page 100]
and chair massage stories ["The Fainting Mystery,"
by Eric Brown, January/February 2014, page 58]
to be super helpful. Keep up the great work.

Massage & Bodywork magazine has been knocking it
out of the park with articles lately. Articles I loved:
the pros and cons of working with a chiropractor
["Creating a Win-Win," by W. David Bond, January/
February 2014, page 68], Myoskeletal Alignment
Techniques [by Erik Dalton, January/February, page
107], and all the money and marketing articles.
