We then use the data from those lists to produce a fi nal number for each state that excludes dual-licensed therapists who practice in multiple states, which reduces the overall number by about 7 percent. In unregulated states and states where we are unable to gather information, we estimate based on similar states, information about ABMP membership, and other available professional data. 2008 2010 2012 2014 2016 2019 2023 278,089 293,531 316,056 321,981 328,799 334,219 321,493 BLOG: FOR STATE-BY-STATE ANALYSIS, READ THE FULL REPORT 1.
