Massage Warehouse Donates to the Profession Congratulations to ABMP member Melissa Hagin who won a free year of ABMP membership at the spring American Massage Conference in Atlanta. The giveaway was part of a larger fundraising effort by Massage Warehouse Sanctuary for the Liddle Kidz Foundation and the Touch Research Institute, with the two being awarded $5,100 and $6,200 respectively. (Massage Warehouse Sanctuary is the philanthropic arm of Massage Warehouse.) Hagin tells us the prize was very timely: her membership had expired after the birth of her baby. Now, back at work, she was ready to renew. Massage Warehouse also gave its Ultimate New Graduate Award to the College of Southern Maryland during ABMP's School Issues Forum In April. Thank you Massage Warehouse for partnering with ABMP! EveryBody Deserves a Massage Week Many of you have told us about the good work you did during EveryBody Deserves a Massage Week (EBDMW), July 14–20. Congratulations! Here is what ABMP Membership Coordinator (and ABMP member) Mary Heinz did to promote massage during the weeklong celebration: "I offered free massage to members of Highland Rescue Team, an emergency services facility that serves the area where our ABMP offices are located here in Genesee, Colorado. In addition to my work at ABMP and my private massage practice, I also volunteer at Highland Rescue as an emergency medical technician (EMT), so it seemed appropriate to offer massage during EBDMW to these first responders that I work with."
