FROM FACEBOOK I used a popular tote bag, a purse organizer insert, and a couple 99¢ quick links to make a large, deep basket to hold all my foot massage and refl exology supplies. It sure made my life easier and tidier. KANDY KIGE I set up separate business bank accounts and only use one credit card for business. I have them connected to QuickBooks Self- Employed, so my accounting is super easy. It leaves more time for my clients and my self-care. At tax time, it takes me about 15 minutes to prep documents for my CPA. BAILEY B. R. MADDOX Don't be so serious in my approach with clients. Be professional, be passionate, but still be able to laugh and let some of my own personality shine through while working. KRISTEN LOVING JENSEN Laundry service. $1 per pound for someone else to wash, dry, and fold my sheets. Worth. Every. Penny. SANDRA BIANCO Is it part of a practitioner's job to exhibit (outwardly for clientele and inwardly for self) a healthy lifestyle—physically, mentally, and spiritually? Why? Publication Date: Jul/Aug 2019 If massage therapy is a part-time job for you, do you complement it with another career? In what? How do you make it work? Publication Date: Sep/Oct 2019 Email your responses to editor@abmp.com. Your submission can be as short as you'd like and up to 250 words. Upcoming Topics SPEAK YOUR MIND Tell us your favorite way to hack your practice. What have you done to make your work life more effi cient, easier; what "cheat" have you found that helps? I have trouble with constantly changing schedules every week … I don't like chaos. So, I book my elderly clients in the mornings (9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.—my least busy times) only for home visits. I book corporate chair massage clients during the midday (11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.). And everyone else from 2:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. KAREN DAWN ARNOLD I have just begun using a laundry service. My sheets are picked up at my offi ce and brought back a few hours later—washed, dried, and folded. I am amazed at how much time I save, plus the savings on my electric and water bills. I no longer have to lug sheets back and forth to the offi ce. Everything about it is wonderful. It is fairly costly, but the savings at home, plus the tax credit, makes it more than worth the price. The money won't be mine, anyway, so I'm choosing for it to go to this service rather than to the government and to benefi t the business, my clients, and me in the meantime.
