NEWS NOTES compiled by Jed Heneberry US Spa Revenue Grows According to the International Spa Association (ISPA) and its 2012 US Spa Industry Study, an increase in spa visits has helped grow revenues to $13.4 billion, a 4.5 percent increase from the previous year. "The spa industry is growing at a healthy rate in revenue and visits," ISPA President Lynne McNees says. "Overall confi dence remains high across the board as the spa industry is outpacing economic growth." The study, which will be released in full at a future date, also shows that 83 percent of spas have made a change in their business over the past year, including increased treatment offerings, new retail products, and shorter treatment options. ISPA has been "advancing the spa industry by providing invaluable educational and networking opportunities, promoting the value of the spa experience, and speaking as the authoritative voice to foster professionalism and growth" for more than 20 years.
