I first encountered grief in my early 20s. Just a few months
before I entered massage therapy school, my younger brother
Chris was killed in a car accident. Then, a few years later, my
mother died by suicide. After each of these losses, my body felt
every bit as battered and broken as my heart, mind, and soul.
