Prudden's work in the 1950s led President Dwight Eisenhower to establish the council now known as the President's Council on Physical Fitness, Sports & Nutrition (PCFSN). In 1976, she developed her modality as a noninvasive, simple method of pressing on trigger points and using appropriate exercises to keep muscles pain-free. In 2006, Prudden was inducted into the Fitness Hall of Fame and the Massage Hall of Fame, and in 2007, at age 93, she received the Inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award from the PCFSN. National Association of Nurse Massage Therapists Appoints New Board Therapists (NANMT) appointed a new board to direct their efforts to support nurses who integrate touch therapy into their practice. Judith Dean, RN, DS, former director and chair of the National Certifi cation Board of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork, will serve as president, while Jamie Listebarger, RN, LMT, will serve as vice-president and Andy Bernay-Roman, MS, CMT, will serve as secretary/treasurer.
