Massage & Bodywork NCCAM Begins Research Blog The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) at the National Institutes of Health launched a blog about "developments related to complementary health practices." Posts include refl ections on integrative health in general, as well as specifi c commentary on recent studies and conferences. NCCAM was started in 1998 to "defi ne, through rigorous scientifi c investigation, the usefulness and safety of complementary and alternative medicine interventions and their roles in improving health and health care." The blog is available at http://nccam.nih.gov/research/blog. Wins Two Maggies The Western Publishing Association (WPA) awarded Massage & Bodywork magazine two Maggie awards, recognizing the magazine as among "The Best in the West." The magazine earned "Best Digital Edition Magazine Trade/Consumer" and "Special Theme Issue Public/Trade" for the May/ June 2011 oncology issue titled Straight Talk About Cancer, and was also recognized as a fi nalist in three other categories.
