NEWS NOTES compiled by Jed Heneberry National Certifi cation Board Announces Criteria The National Certifi cation Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) announced the eligibility criteria for its forthcoming Board Certifi cation Credential. Requirements include passing a new certifi cation exam, completing 750 hours of education, performing 250 hours of hands-on massage, passing a background check, agreeing to the NCBTMB Code of Ethics, maintaining current CPR certifi cation, and signing a pledge against human traffi cking. Massage therapists who are currently Nationally Certifi ed will need to meet the requirements, minus the new exam. The new credentialing process will be instituted in early 2013. Child Massage Documentary Released The Liddle Kidz Foundation (LKF), working in conjunction with the Japanese Association of Baby and Childcare, has released a documentary tracking LKF founder Tina Allen during outreach efforts in Japan following the March 2011 tsunami. "We were able to show the power of nurturing touch through our volunteer work," Allen says. The fi lm also follows Allen's educational efforts in training others in pediatric massage.
