o be grounded is to preserve the well-being of sensitive people by avoiding, discharging, or draining out the toxic psychic infl uences of others, so they can function well. I would argue that grounding actually protects us from the harmonic resonance that occurs between therapist and client, and the debilitating functional patterns that resonance brings forth.
