ith 20 years of experience in the healing profession, one thing I've learned is that massage therapists tend to take better care of clients than they do of themselves. For MTs, physical therapists, reiki practitioners, nurses, you name it—burnout is common among caregivers. Whether it's "practice what you preach" or "physician heal thyself," it's imperative that caregivers adopt a self-care philosophy. Ultimately, we can't be of service to others unless we put ourselves at the top of our client list.
