contributors IN THIS ISSUE Laura Allen lives in the mountains of Western North Carolina with her husband Champ and spoiled dog Smokey Bear. She is the owner of THERA-SSAGE, a Laura Allen multidisciplinary clinic of alternative health care. Laura enjoys singing, songwriting, and playing the guitar and harmonica. Wolfgang Luckmann A follower and student of Oriental medicine and Daoist philosophy, Wolfgang devotes most of his time implementing Oriental bodywork courses that embody the spirit, mind, body connection as practiced in ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. He also devotes time to qigong meditation and his daughters. Read Karrie's feature on the Massage Therapy Body of Knowledge project, on page 44. For the entirety of his career, John has specialized as a hospice massage therapist. He is employed by the Hospice of the John Mramor Visiting Nurse Association in Cleveland, Ohio. Although he mourns the loss of his tuba (sold to finance his education), a Bettie Page vintage bicycle cheers him up immensely! Karrie Osborn Karrie is forever grateful her career path veered into the world of massage in 1998. Today, puttering in her gardens, savoring her children and their joy for life, writing with purpose, and soaking up the goodness of a 90-minute massage are the things that replenish her spirit. Surviving his Midwestern roots and academia, and Art Riggs emerging relatively unscathed, Art was ephiphanied into a Rolfer after experiencing the benefits on his body. He has a private practice and teaches in the United States and abroad. He spends time exploring new ways to express his idiosyncratic tendencies. 10 massage & bodywork july/august 2010
