The DVDs ($200) include all the plenary sessions of its inaugural 2007 Boston and second 2009 Amsterdam conferences. The proceedings books ($60) include selected full-text articles, abstracts of oral presentations, and abstracts of poster presentations. The congresses bring together international scholars on the latest scientific findings on human fascia. NCCAM Backs Foundation Highlighting Conference The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), a division of the National Institutes of Health has granted the Massage Therapy Foundation $30,000 to help fund its upcoming Highlighting Massage Therapy in Complementary and Integrative Medicine Research conference. NCCAM Director Josephine Briggs, MD, will present a keynote address at the conference scheduled for May 13-15, 2010, in Seattle. The three-day event will include more than 60 research and poster presentations and innovative experiential workshops focusing on translational research in the profession. Other keynote speakers are Dan Cherkin, PhD; Julie Ann Day; Willie Fourie; Christine Goertz, DC, PhD; Helene M. Langevin, MD; and Whitney Lowe. Longest Consecutive Massage Treatments LMT Costa John set a world record for longest consecutive massage treatments by giving 50 hours of continuous chair massages. John massaged 229 clients in Montclair Village, California, as part of a fundraising event for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and helped raise about $15,000. John first partnered with the fund in 2005 to honor his sister, Alana, who succumbed to the disease. The previous record was held by Barry Green, who gave 186 treatments over 46.5 hours.
