Author and educator Diana
Thompson received a trio of
accolades in September. At the
American Massage Conference in
San Diego, Thompson received the
One Concept Massage Therapist
of the Year award. At the Massage
Therapy Foundation's (MTF)
annual donor reception held in
Fort Worth, Texas, Thompson
received the MTF's Distinguished
Service Award. (She served two
terms as MTF president.) She
also received the Performance
Health/Massage Therapy
Foundation Humanitarian Award
for her overall contributions to the
profession. As part of the award,
Performance Health donated
$2,500 to the MTF on her behalf.
As an aside, in August,
Performance Health, the
manufacturer of brands that
include Biofreeze and Thera-Band,
merged with Cramer Products,
which supports the fields of athletic
training and sports medicine.
