8 m a s s a g e & b o d y wo r k m a rc h /a p r i l 2 0 2 2 EDITOR'S NOTE Always Better practice advice for our members and the profession. They're also a glimpse into our motto: Expect More. I'm reminded this issue of another person who lives life similarly. Deborah Szekely's motto of siempre mejor ("always better") is representative of a life well lived. At 99 years of age, she's still striving to improve her service to others. And this is after co-creating two of the most famous spas in the world (Golden Door and Rancho La Puerta). Our profi le of Deborah from Senior Editor Karrie Osborn is truly motivational, and we hope you enjoy it. In each issue of Massage & Bodywork magazine, our in-house team of 10 works to offer the best articles from the profession's best authors and educators. And we strive to make it balanced in approach, whether you're a new practitioner or a touch veteran. From simple ways to bring Thai massage into your sessions (pages 30 and 38) to seated massage mechanics (page 20) to making your business ADA compliant (page 78), there's something for everyone in this and each issue. One fi nal thing of note. Here at ABMP we have an "open-door policy," meaning a direct line of communication with our members. Not only do we all speak with our members daily, but we're happy to help serve you in any way possible whenever you need it. Like what we're doing? Let us know. Have suggestions on topics or ideas we haven't covered? We're all ears. Shoot us an email or give us a call. Siempre mejor. DARREN BUFORD Editor-in-Chief darren@abmp.com When we launched The ABMP Podcast in April 2021, we had no idea so many massage and bodywork professionals would tune in weekly to hear us connect with leaders in the profession on topics important to you and your practices. (We are so grateful for our listeners and their continued support.) We soon followed that podcast, which ABMP's Director of Professional Education Kristin Coverly and I co-host, with Ruth Werner's I Have a Client Who . . . and Allison Denney's The Rebel MT. Their stellar, insightful, and fun (insert all positive and glowing adjectives here) approaches to pathology and anatomy in short, 15-minute bursts are delightful, inquisitive, and knowledge- expanding. Haven't heard our podcasts yet? Take a listen at abmp. com/podcasts or subscribe using your favorite podcast app (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc.). Together, these three podcasts—as well as this award-winning magazine, our more than 700 hours of continuing education, and our two apps (Pocket Pathology and Five-Minute Muscles)—provide practitioners with a bevy of new content to help strengthen their skills in just about every facet of their practices. These options demonstrate ABMP's continued focus on providing the best educational material and SCAN TO CATCH AN EPISODE OF THE ABMP PODCAST 1. Open your camera 2. Scan the code 3.
